Chris Marsden joins RAND Europe

Dear all – apologies for any cross-posting

I am delighted to announce that I joined RAND Europe on 6th June, as a Senior Policy Analyst primarily in the Information Society Policy research areas, with a focus on ICT policy evaluation, communications governance issues, the influence of ICTs on socio-economic ecologies, and information assurance: http://www.rand.org/randeurope/research/areas/infosoc.html

RAND is of course the most renowned and largest of not-for-profit thinktanks (founded in 1948 in Santa Monica), and RAND Europe has worked on long-term strategic policy for national governments, the EC and corporate clients since 1992.

I will be based in Cambridge and London, so please let me know when you are in the Greater London/Heathrow area and we can catch up.

It’s been great working at Oxford the last 15 months, but when RAND makes you an offer, you don’t refuse! I hope to remain associated on projects and other academic research with Oxford, the Communications Innovation Institute at Cambridge, the Phoenix Center in DC, on the editorial board of ‘info’, for many years. RAND very actively engages with the academic as well as policy communities in the UK, Brussels and Netherlands.

I’ll be able to base my contributions to strategic policy research on the independent scientific research I have been engaged in for the last several years, with a superb international and multi-disciplinary team to lean on.

Best regards
